As one of the largest business sectors in the world, the international hospitality industry has been going through a period of momentous change in recent years and the pace of this change appears to be quickening. Since change is about the only thing we can absolutely count on, industry leaders and those that provide capital to the hospitality sector must re-evaluate their strategies more frequently, adjust their organizations accordingly, align their people, processes and technology and monitor the results in new and innovative ways. In recent years, we have devoted much time and effort to studying the issues of defining importance to the hospitality industry. In the papers presented in the Roundhill Series, we provide a number of findings and conclusions resulting from this work. While some of our work has been focused on subjects of importance at a particular point in time, the issues raised have relevance and application for those looking for guidance as to what may lie ahead.
